Namaa Small and Microfinance Foundation Wraps Up the First Consultative Meeting!
We are proud to announce the successful conclusion of the first consultative meeting held by Namaa Small and Microfinance Foundation’s leadership, along with branch and regional managers. The meeting took place on April 4-5, 2023.
During the opening session, Mr. Mohamed Ali Al-Faran, the foubdation’s chairman, highlighted the objective of the meeting, which focused on discussing the current status of the foundation, particularly in light of the evolving circumstances. The meeting aimed to generate proposals regarding sustainability mechanisms and performance development.
Al-Faran emphasized Namaa's commitment to providing diverse community services in social empowerment, free training and capacity building, and contributing to the national economy. He expressed his appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the foundation's employees, especially during these exceptional times, where everyone is working together to overcome challenges and transform them into opportunities for success.
Throughout the meeting, various presentations were delivered by the foundation's management, branches, and regions, discussing available alternatives to continue financing small businesses, impoverished families, and those in need. These efforts contribute to reducing unemployment, poverty, and enhancing economic empowerment.
It is worth mentioning that Namaa Small and Microfinance Foundation has been providing its services to small businesses, impoverished and low-income households for the past 23 years through its 14 branches. Cumulatively, the foundation has provided approximately 103,668 financings, amounting to a total cost of 28,759,855,498 SAR. Currently, there are 6,633 active financings totaling 4,120,739,697 SAR.
During the meeting, the financial situation of the foundation was discussed in light of these variables, and several proposals were presented for further examination.
The meeting also included an overview of reports and coverage highlighting some of the foundation's achievements, successes in financing, implemented projects, economic empowerment, training, and capacity building. Notably, the partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the Refugee Livelihoods Improvement Project was also mentioned.
The meeting concluded with the approval of several recommendations and decisions that emerged from the discussions.
