On Saturday, August 13, 2023, Namaa Small & Microfinance Foundation inaugurated the plowing project for farmers (second season) in Al Hodiedah Governorate.
During the inauguration, attended by the President and members of the Foundation's Board of Directors in the Al Zaidiya district of Al Hodiedah Governorate, the Chairman of the Foundation's Board of Directors, Mohammed Ali Al-Faran, explained that the project targets 200 farms covering an area of one million and five hundred thousand square meters in several directorates of the governorate.
He pointed out that the project aims to contribute to achieving sustainable agricultural development, leading to self-sufficiency, by providing plowing services to farmers without any upfront payment for its cost, which will be settled on the day of harvest.
Al-Faran emphasized that the plowing project will greatly contribute to providing job opportunities, improving the livelihoods of farmers, cultivating lands, and utilizing the agricultural season to increase crop production.
He affirmed the importance of the project in supporting and encouraging farmers to cultivate lands and valleys, and mobilizing resources to increase agricultural production, thus contributing to achieving food security and benefiting both farmers and the community.
He also highlighted the importance of combining all official and societal efforts, taking serious action to cultivate and farm larger areas, and working towards the success of plans aimed at revitalizing the agricultural sector and restoring the economic role of agriculture by increasing grain and other crop production
