Nama’a Development and Microfinance Foundation Participates in a Visit to the Central Bank of Jordan

As part of the scheduled field visits for microfinance foundations and banks participating in Snabel 16 conference held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan at Dead Sea from May 15 to 14, a team of leaders from various Arab countries, including Egypt, Yemen, Tunisia, Libya, Palestine, and Morocco, embarked on an exploratory visit to the Central Bank of Jordan.

The team was warmly received by Ms. Maha Issa Abdul Laha, the Executive Director of the Supervision Department for Finance Companies and Credit Information Companies at the Central Bank of Jordan.

During the meeting, the distinguished Jordanian experience in the field of microfinance, automation, regulation of microfinance companies, financial consumer protection, and financial literacy was showcased.

The participants from Arab countries had the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification about the leading Jordanian experience.

The leadership of the Central Bank of Jordan expressed its readiness to share the knowledge gained from the best global practices with Arab countries interested in adopting them. They also expressed their willingness to provide training and capacity-building in the same field.

The leadership of the Social Development Fund, represented by Mr. Osama Al-Shami, Head of the Microfinance Unit, and Mr. Mohammed Al-Faran, President of Nama’a Development and Microfinance  Foundation, along with the other participants from the Republic of Yemen, extended their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Central Bank of Jordan for the success of the Snabel conference, as well as for their generous hospitality, warm reception, and valuable contributions from the bank's experiences, which are ready to be shared with Arab countries.

The Central Bank of Jordan, in turn, expressed its gratitude and appreciation to all foundations and banks for their interaction, interest, and role in the field of microfinance.

At the end of the meeting, Nama’a Development and Microfinance Foundation presented a commemorative gift to the leadership of the Central Bank of Jordan, the official sponsor of the Snabel 16 conference, which is considered one of the most successful conferences held.
