Nama’a Development and Microfinance Foundation, in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), signed a memorandum of understanding.

With the aim of promoting development, alleviating poverty and unemployment, and their continuous focus on economic empowerment through capacity building and support for entrepreneurs, Nama’a Development and Microfinance Foundation signed a joint cooperation agreement with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) in the Jordanian capital, Amman. This agreement aims to implement activities that contribute to the support and enhancement of entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises in Yemen.
During the signing ceremony, Mr. Karim Hassan, the Executive Director of ESCWA Technology Center, praised the role of Nama’a Development and Microfinance Foundation and their developmental efforts, emphasizing ESCWA's keenness and interest in Yemeni entrepreneurs.
On the other hand, Mr. Mohammed Ali Al-Farran, the Head of Nama’a Development and Microfinance Foundation, commended ESCWA's role in promoting economic and social development in the Arab region.
He also noted that this agreement will open broad horizons for entrepreneurs, enhance their capacities, and increase the chances of success for their projects, particularly in the field of e-commerce and economic empowerment.
Furthermore, the agreement will contribute to the establishment of online platforms for entrepreneurs, expanding marketing opportunities for their projects and products through local and regional electronic platforms.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Wazir Saadan, a member of the Board of Directors of Nama’a Foundation, and Eng. Nael Al-Mulqi, the National Director of ESCWA Technology Center.
