Under ESCWA’s Patronage: Nama’a Foundation and Academy Conclude Training Program on "Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development

Sana’a, Yemen – Under the patronage of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), Nama’a Development and Microfinance Foundation, in collaboration with Nama’a Academy for Microfinance, concluded a training program titled "Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development." The program, held from December 7 to 12, 2024, welcomed the participation of 22 young men and women.

The training prepared participants to develop innovative and practical small business projects. Key topics included communication skills, generating and evaluating business ideas, understanding success factors, crafting business plans, diversifying income, financial accounting, and engaging with microfinance institutions and banks.

During the closing ceremony, Mr. Mohammed Ali Al-Farran, Chairman of Nama’a Foundation, emphasized the significance of supporting youth and entrepreneurship as a cornerstone of the Foundation’s vision for promoting economic and social development in Yemen.
He highlighted that the program aligns with Nama’a’s partnership with ESCWA, which aims to bolster entrepreneurial skills and capabilities. This reflects the Foundation’s commitment to offering high-quality programs that benefit entrepreneurs and the community.
“Entrepreneurship is one of the most effective means to drive economic development and achieve financial independence for young people,” Al-Farran stated. “Encouraging youth to explore this field fosters innovation and creates new job opportunities.”
He urged participants to continue expanding their knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship, describing it as a golden opportunity to achieve their aspirations and contribute to building a prosperous society.

Dr. Khaled Jaadan, Executive Director of Nama’a Foundation, praised the participants for their dedication and encouraged them to implement the knowledge they had gained in their future projects. He reaffirmed the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to providing technical and financial support to entrepreneurs through its diverse programs.

Ms. Haifa Al-Ansi, the trainer, emphasized the course's role in teaching participants to prepare feasibility studies and engage with financial institutions. She highlighted that participants presented and evaluated their project ideas, focusing on improving their real-world viability.

Participants expressed their gratitude to Nama’a Foundation, Nama’a Academy, and ESCWA for this valuable opportunity. They highlighted the program's role in improving their skills and boosting their confidence to enter the labor market and entrepreneurial field with assurance.
