"Nama'a Academy for Microfinance and Nama'a Small and Microfinance Foundation concluded the 25th training program on the fundamentals of microfinance. The program, titled "Fundamentals of Microfinance," was completed by 19 female entrepreneurs over a period of 4 days, with 3 hours of training per day, ending on Thursday, December 14, 2023 (1st Jumada II 1445).
The objective of the training program was to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge about microfinance, its importance, goals, and beneficiaries. Additionally, it aimed to familiarize them with the social performance and developmental impact that microfinance plays on both the beneficiaries and the economy at large.
The program also covered the significance of small projects, entrepreneurship, and their role in achieving sustainable development. The program included providing participants with knowledge on differentiating between small, medium, and large-scale projects, understanding various sources and types of financing, the roles of finance specialists, financial statements, and how to benefit from global best practices in microfinance to enhance the microfinance landscape in Yemen. This training program was conducted to enhance the capacities and skills of entrepreneurs and project idea owners in the fundamentals of microfinance, economic empowerment, and related services for sustainable development, enabling them to innovate small projects that help improve their income levels. During the program's closing ceremony, the management of Nama'a Academy for Microfinance expressed their readiness to implement training programs in the field of small and micro projects. Their aim is to promote and disseminate a culture of microfinance and small projects within the community, given their significant importance in driving development, combating poverty, and reducing unemployment. On the other hand, Mr. Ziad Al-Sabri, the course trainer, emphasized the importance of conducting such courses that promote a culture of microfinance within society. Nama'a Academy for Microfinance has been at the forefront of organizing such courses for a while, believing in the significant role that microfinance plays in driving development and combating poverty and unemployment. At the end of the program, participation certificates were distributed to the participants."
