Nama’a Academy for Microfinance and Nama’a Development and Microfinance Foundation recently concluded the first phase of their Rural Finance training program, marking a significant milestone in their collaborative efforts.
Over the course of five intensive days, 19 enthusiastic participants from the University of Sanaa's Faculty of Agriculture immersed themselves in the Rural Finance program, a key component of the academy's microfinance diploma courses. Through daily sessions lasting three hours each, attendees delved into a diverse range of topics essential for mastering financial analysis and feasibility studies, crucial for informed decision-making in credit allocation.
The primary objective of the training was to equip participants with the skills needed to develop thorough feasibility studies for agricultural clients, enabling them to make sound credit decisions based on solid foundations. Throughout the program, participants also gained valuable insights into agricultural practices, financial challenges, risk assessment in agricultural finance, financial ratios, types of agricultural financing products, financial statement analysis, funding proposals, and project evaluation methodologies necessary for securing financing.
This training initiative is part of a larger series of courses and programs offered by the academy this year, aimed at raising awareness about the critical role of agricultural finance in driving sustainable economic growth and development.
In a closing statement, instructor Mr. Ziad Al-Sabri emphasized the importance of such educational initiatives in fostering a culture of microfinance within the community. Nama’a Academy for Microfinance has been a pioneer in organizing such courses, recognizing the significant impact microfinance has in advancing development, alleviating poverty, and combating unemployment.
