Training Course on Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing 2023

On Thursday, November 16, 2023, Nama Small and Microfinance organized a training course for its employees focused on anti-money laundering and combating financing terrorism.

The training course was sponsored by the National Committee for Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism.

The course was held from November 15 to November 16, 2023, and was attended by 19 employees of the foundation. Its goal was to provide participants with an understanding of the basics of money laundering and terrorist financing, as well as the responsibilities of non-profit organizations in relation to these issues. In addition, the course covered the obligations of the Ministry of Social Affairs and labor in the implementation of anti-money laundering measures for non-profit organizations and the possibility of misuse of non-profit organizations to finance terrorism.

The training courses were attended by Mr. Wadih al-Sada, deputy chairman of the National Committee to Combat Money Laundering, and other members of the committee, including Judge Rashid Al-Minni, Mr. Abdulkader Al-Halili, and Mr. Yahya Al-Sayani.

At the end of the training course, Mr. Mohammed Al-Faran, director general of Nama Foundation, stressed the importance of the course and its positive impact on raising awareness among the foundation's employees about combating money laundering and terrorist financing. He expressed gratitude to the trainers for sharing their knowledge and information with the staff of the foundation and expressed hope for a continuous partnership between  Nama Small and Microfinance Foundation, Nama Business Center, and the National Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Committee.

After the completion of the course, certificates of participation were distributed to all participants.
