Nama’a Foundation Partners with GELGOOG to Reduce Post-Harvest Losses in Yemen

Nama’a Foundation Signs Agency Agreement with GELGOOG to Combat Post-Harvest Losses

The Nama’a Development and Microfinance Foundation, represented by Chairman Mohammed Al-Farran, has signed an official agency agreement with GELGOOG, a leading Chinese company specializing in the manufacturing and supply of small, medium, and large-scale food processing lines, including advanced technologies for producing juice, jam, tomato paste, and vegetable sauces.

This strategic partnership aims to address the major post-harvest losses faced annually by Yemeni farmers—especially with crops like tomatoes, pomegranates, apples, and mangoes—due to the absence of industrial solutions to convert surplus produce into marketable food products.

Al-Farran emphasized that the agreement marks a significant step in empowering the agricultural sector to overcome seasonal waste challenges by introducing modern processing technologies that help farmers sustainably utilize their harvests and generate added economic value.

He also noted that the partnership reflects Nama’a’s ongoing commitment to expanding its footprint in the agro-processing sector and strengthening the local market through smart industrial solutions, in collaboration with globally experienced and reputable partners.
